Groundwater well screens (often also called well screens, well casing screens, or filter casings), particularly those utilizing the Wedge Wire type, are core components in groundwater extraction and monitoring wells. Their primary function is to ensure groundwater can flow smoothly into the wellbore while effectively blocking sand and gravel from the formation, thereby preventing well clogging and protecting pumping equipment from abrasion.
